Model T Boattail
This is one of my dad's current projects. it's a model "t" boat-tail racer, all vintage model "t" parts...two speeds...pretty quick considering the age!. 1927 ford model t boat tail speedstermileage is undeterminedengine1927 ford model t. standard bore. new aluminum pistons & rings. new valve seats and valves. new adjustable lifters (installed 4/14). aluminum high compression z head. high flow aluminum intake manifold. modern carburetor. cast iron dual exhaust manifold and dual exhaust pipes. high lift camshaft. water pump.. 1921 ford model t speedster. this authentic 1921 chassis and drive train was completely stripped, taken back to original condition and a brand new boattail style all wood body was built. the six volt system was converted to a twelve volt system with the generator being replaced with an alternator. push button and/or crank are available..
The tie rod was a challenging engineering hurdle. it is a model a tie-rod cut and shaped to clear the frame cross member, springs and axle. the spindle attachment arms are a hybrid--model t lower arm with ball welded for tie-rod and a model a upper arm for the drag link attachment. a model a steering box is planned.. It's a handmade 1930 model a ford boat tail speedster. also include is the hood sides and (2) chrome spare tire rings that could be cut in half to make fenders to attach to the backing plates in front. this would allow the fenders to turn when you turn the steering wheel. if you have any questions please send me an email.. The owner's of the chassis have graciously trusted unto me the freedom of body style design...thus providing me with the opportunity to blue print a boattail speedster for the model a chassis...and i think the husband and wife team will be pleasantly surprised with the end results..
